Large embossed ring in royal red colour

A beautiful embossed ring inspired by a Minoan seal-stone. Handmade from red, Cretan clay, and painted with royal red and black colour.
Seal-stones were small, carved artworks that decorated a ring (or sometimes, a pendant). Their owners, important individuals of considerable wealth or power, used them as a kind of signature when writing letters, and to guarantee that the objects they sealed were tamper-proof. Moreover, various magical, medical, and astrological properties were attributed to them in ancient times. Each seal-stone was unique: a collector’s item that was passed from one generation to the next, denoting power and prestige.
