Ancient Minoan Amphora Marine Style

An excellent ancient Greek Minoan amphora, with a marine illustration of octopus and sea lions in ocher, red, and black. It  has been discovered at the Palace of Knossos in Crete. The original vase, which dates back to around 1650-1580 B.C., depicts aquatic images with emphasis placed on non-symmetrical balance, interlocking curves, and opposed diagonal movements.
