Knossos Prochus

Knossos prochus is one of the most interesting and beautiful vases exhibited in the Museum of Heraklion, Crete. The vessel was found near the ancient palace of Knossos. It was used in everyday life for holding water or wine by the ancient Minoans.
It is decorated with depictions of birds and fish found in nature, painted in bright colors that contrast with the light-colored background. At the tip of the jug’s spout, there is a small hole through which liquid flowed.

This is a one-of-a-kind, rare find! It is handmade and hand-painted in Greece using traditional techniques and ecological colors.
