Geometric Pyxis with peacocks

A stunning pyxis from ancient Greece. These vases were made from clay and used as jewelry boxes. They were very common in everyday life.
This pyxis dates back to the late geometric period (9th century B.C.). The surface of the vessels of that era are usually divided into zones with linear decorative motifs that were repeated to cover as much of the surface as possible.
The dominant motif here is the peacock, which was one of the favorite decorative patterns in ancient Greece, due to its beauty and the high status it conveyed.
The Pyxis has a handle and can be used as a jewelry box or for your personal items.
It’s handmade and hand-painted in Greece using traditional techniques and ecological colors. A true work of art in your space!
