Discobolus of Myron

The Discobolus of Myron is an ancient Greek sculpture created by the Greek sculptor Myron in the 5th century BCE. It depicts an athlete preparing to throw a discus, an object similar to the modern discus used in contemporary discus throwing.
The sculpture is considered a masterpiece of ancient Greek sculpture and is one of the most significant examples of the classical period. Myron managed to capture impressively the movement and harmony of the human body as it is ready to release the discus.
