Dolphins held a special significance for the ancient Minoans, symbolizing good spirit and the freedom of character. Few sea creatures have captured the attention of writers, poets, musicians, and artists more than the dolphin.
References to dolphins can be found in many myths, where they have often been portrayed as saviors of humans. The dolphins’ fresco is currently housed at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion in Crete
