Geometric Pyxis with flowers and horses

This is one of the most beautiful pyxides from ancient Greece. These vases were made of clay and used as jewelry boxes. They were very common in everyday life.
This pyxis dates back to the late geometric period (9th century B.C.). The surface of the vessels of that era are usually divided into zones with linear decorative motifs that were repeated to cover as much of the surface as possible. The dominant motifs on this particular pyxis are flowers and horses, which were popular decorative motifs in ancient Greece due to their dynamism and motion.
It can be used as a jewelry case or to store personal items.
It’s handmade and hand-painted in Greece using traditional techniques and ecological colors.
