Kamares ware vase

This Kamares-style vase features impressive rows of white spirals and is a reproduction of the original, which was discovered in the ruins of the Phaistos palace complex in Crete and dates back to about 1900-1700 B.C. It belongs to the most beautiful pottery of the Minoan era, the colorful ‘Kamares’ wares, named after the Kamares cave where they were first discovered. The original vase is exhibited in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum in Crete, Greece.
